Red Vase i

mixed media on canvas
65 × 80 cm
2026

Exploring flowers as symbols of hope, this piece draws on the compositional and allegorical traditions of classical still life.

A mix of representational styles reflects the breadth of human experience, while the collaged objects reimagine the genre’s poetic symbolism and invite viewers to consider what brings them hope and comfort today.

A bouquet, a celebration of life's milestones, becomes a focal point for reflecting on hope amid constant change.

  • Created as a reminder to slow down and reconnect with ourselves, this collection depicts self-reflection, inner stillness, and the complexity of being human.

By layering portraits, flowers and dreamy textures, each piece invites you to pause and step back from distraction and reconnect with thought, emotion, and the beauty of our inner world.

Blending the real with the surreal, the work is inspired by mindfulness, human connection, and the strange, hopeful experience of navigating life through the lens of our own minds.

Designed to bring a sense of calm, curiosity, and reflection into our spaces.

  • This piece was created using oil pastel, acrylic, charcoal, and digitally designed jacquard tapestry on canvas. Layers of painting, drawing, collage, and stitched fabric are combined to create textured surfaces that feel both fragmented and emotionally charged.

I often tear apart sections of my paintings and stitch them back together using my sewing machine, allowing the work to evolve through layering, reconstruction, and experimentation. The woven tapestry elements are digitally designed by me and produced in collaboration with a weaving studio in the United States.

My creative process is playful, intuitive, and constantly evolving. I collect images, colours, textures, and symbols that I feel emotionally connected to. I then combine and rearrange them whilst searching for balance within the composition.

Through repeated layering, reworking, and partial destruction of the surface, the artworks gradually develop a fractured, dreamy appearance.

  • This artwork comes in a wooden float frame. The canvas is left raw to give an unfinished look, reflecting that everyone's life is a work in progress.
