The Overthinker ii

This piece was created using acrylic paint and charcoal on canvas, and woven tapestry. I tear up my canvases and bits of painting I make, and I stitch them together with my sewing machine. I also digitally design the sections of tapestry that are woven for me by a weaving studio in the US.

My creative process is very playful, experimental and always evolving. I take images I think look good, of things I connect with and which have some poetic symbolism. I try a lot of combinations of images, colours and text to try and find balance in a composition. Many iterations and a continuing process of creating, layering and destroying images lead to the fragmented and fractured aesthetic of my works.

This artwork is sold unframed. The canvas is left raw to give an unfinished look, reflecting that everyone's life is a work in progress.
