February Update
I have had a busy month both in and out of the studio. Liuda and I returned to the UK 4 weeks ago and are looking for a new place to call home. We are lucky to have friends and family who are amazingly patient and supportive and give us a place to stay while we grapple with the London rental market.
‘New starts’ has been the month’s theme, with many pieces getting started in the studio. I’m working on a few larger canvases, plus smaller paper pieces, to continue the body of work I started last year. I’m still working in multiple mediums and combining by cutting and sewing the paper and canvas. I am hoping to have more to share very soon. Most parts are ready for several pieces and need bringing together.
This time of year is also prime time for commission work; events are less frequent, meaning I can lock myself away in the studio for long periods. I have a few private custom pieces in progress, ranging from portraits of clients’ family members to larger surreal and dreamlike paintings, which will be the centrepiece of a client’s home. If you ever have an idea you want to discuss, drop me a line by replying to this newsletter. Now is the time: if you have a precise idea for a piece, would like a unique, tailor-made artwork, or want me to share more about my process, then let’s chat.
