How I Start All My Abstract Portraits

With a realist study.

I think it's important to understand the physical before trying to represent the abstract.

If the realist portraits depict our physical self, then the abstract illustrates our mental and spiritual experiences. The two are connected and don't exist without one another.

When I create my art, the portraits I make are collages of abstract, semi-abstract, and realist drawings or paintings. I want to understand the physical first, so that the abstract pieces can relate and work in harmony with them.
